Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas at Cotton City 2012

Happy thanksgiving to all my friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful, thanks filled day and eating lots of good food!  Our big meal is tonight and I can't wait.

I have been on vacation this week and it has been heavenly! I worked at my Cotton City booth yesterday and put out the majority of my Christmas items. I still have to break down my Thanksgiving display and I will probably do that over the weekend. Here are a few iPhone pictures of how it turned out.
This mall frowns on modern items so I'm probably pushing it with this cute Peanuts vignette. But Charlie Brown and the gang remind me of Christmas. Don't they?

Cute knee-hugging elf attached to a ball of mistletoe!
Cute plaid robe for a little girl!

I still have a couple of items take to the mall but this should get me through most of the Christmas season. Good luck to all of you that are partaking in Black Friday! Until next time, Happy Junking!

Changes at Ms. Jackie's Junque

There have been some big things happening at Ms. Jackie's Junque... some of which I'm not ready to fully disclose :) !

Let me start by saying I was on jury duty for TWO weeks (grand jury). It was my first time to serve on jury duty so they christened me well!

I am now down to one booth. I gave up my space at Queen's Attic. It was a bittersweet decision but I feel it was best. The decision was made based on my "big news" that I can't yet disclose.

I was able to pull myself together and work at my Cotton City booth on Saturday. I threw together a little Thanksgiving vignette. It will need to come down in about two weeks to prepare for Christmas stock....but I'm ok with it. Maybe most of it will sell by then.

This is a busy week for me. My birthday is Wednesday and I have a doctor appointment. Then...I start vacation on Friday! Yay me! I will be off until the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Happy Veterans Day to all our military! I attended a fancy military event Friday night with Mr. Jackie's Junque. Ha ha. Don't tell him I called him that, okay?

Until next time,
Happy Junking!

P. S. This is for my friend Bargain Hunting Treasure Seeker!  I was finally able to find my Pilgrim!  Hopefully mine will go to a new home soon!

Catch-up Time!

A few snapshots of what I've been doing. A lot of sewing:

Look at my sweet, thrifted Bernina! Sews like a dream.

Not nearly enough thrifting:

Yay me! Pyrex Butterprint for .25. Twenty five cents!!! Its the small bowl but I don't care. Headed straight for my personal collection.

I found these cute polka dotted soup mugs at a sale a month or so ago. Wouldnt it be great to throw a soup party and use these? Oh wait - soup party equals having people over. Having people over equals cleaning house. Nevermind on the soup party. Ha ha.

Finally, I have no idea how to credit these photos. But they are good nonetheless:

So I just noticed that those are a bit harsh! I promise I'm not a violent person. I just have a dry, weird sense of humor!

My plan for tomorrow is to hit a church sale at 6:00 a.m. then to the grocery store.

Until next time,
Happy Junking!

Queen's Attic Booth

I took a vacation day yesterday.  What does vacation day mean to Jackie?  Vacation day = work at booth.  It's a little challenging to work 40 hours at my "real job," keep two booths stocked and keep a few eBay listing going.  But junking is fun work.  And I wonder why my house is dirty?  My husband has said on more than one occasion that we live in a flea market! Sad -- but true!

Last night after working at the booth we went to our favorite restaurant for dinner.

These are some booth pictures that I snapped yesterday.  Unfortunately I took them before I swept the floor.  Duh!

Can you spot Kool-Aid on the baker's rack?

Cute picket fence bookshelf that I bought at City Wide.  I won't be heart broken if it doesn't sell because then it can come back home with me.

Fisher Price Happy Apple.  Do you remember these?  They are weighted and have some kind of music box in them.  Neat-O!

I took this picture on the way home from the restaurant.  This is the Mobile skyline.

I work in this building :

I was at my first sale at 6:00 a.m. this morning.  I had to dodge rain storms off and on but I found some great stuff today!  The last stop of the day was at a country estate sale.  As I drove up to the house I thought that I probably wouldn't find very much.  WRONG! Among other things, I found two huge shopping bags of vintage Tupperware in very good condition.  I hope to get some of it listed tonight.  That's why I love yard sales.  Because you find the best sales when and where you least expect them.

Until next time,
Happy Junking!
